Sin una tasaci\u00f3n profesional de los edificios y\/o de la maquinaria, a menudo ocurre que las empresas est\u00e1n infraseguradas o sobreaseguradas. En ausencia de una tasaci\u00f3n de seguros, cuando est\u00e1n infraseguradas, su compa\u00f1\u00eda de seguros puede, en caso de da\u00f1os, reembolsar el valor real en efectivo en lugar del valor de reposici\u00f3n de la maquinaria. En el caso de los bienes inmuebles, es probable que haya un infraseguro y que s\u00f3lo reciba una compensaci\u00f3n por parte de los da\u00f1os. En caso de sobreseguro, la compa\u00f1\u00eda de seguros pagar\u00e1 el valor de reconstrucci\u00f3n y\/o el valor nuevo para reparar completamente el da\u00f1o. Sin embargo, la compa\u00f1\u00eda de seguros utilizar\u00e1 esto como una prima m\u00e1xima y no la cantidad m\u00e1xima para la que se ha contratado el seguro.
