En aktivafstemning er n\u00f8dvendig, fordi regnskabets aktivlister ofte er ufuldst\u00e6ndige eller ikke stemmer overens med de tekniske service-\/vedligeholdelseslister. I regnskabet bliver maskiner ofte aktiveret samlet efter specifikke projekter eller fakturaer fra leverand\u00f8rer. Eller aktiver fordeles p\u00e5 andre aktivnumre end dem, som vedligeholdelsesafdelingen bruger. For The Valuation Company indeb\u00e6rer aktivafstemning bl.a. (i) oprydning af aktivlisten med entydig nummerering, (ii) adskillelse af maskinrelaterede aktiver fra bygninger og (iii) organisering af produktionsprocesser og omkostningscentre. Dette g\u00f8res med integrerede modeller uden at p\u00e5virke regnskabsm\u00e6ssig afskrivning af aktiver. Fordelen er, at teknisk afdeling kan kapitalisere omkostninger til rette aktiver, og udskiftning af udstyr kan h\u00e5ndteres direkte i vedligeholdelses- og aktivlisten.
